Short Autumn Stories For 4th Grade

The Mystery of the Golden Leaf
Once upon an autumn afternoon, four friends—Emma, Liam, Sofia, and Noah—set out on an adventure in Maplewood Park. The air was crisp, and the trees blazed with fiery shades of orange, red, and gold. As they played, Noah noticed something shimmering on the ground beneath a tall maple tree.
It was a golden leaf, glowing brighter than any they had ever seen.
“Look!” Noah exclaimed, holding it up. “It’s magical!”
Sofia touched it gently. “Maybe it grants wishes!”
They decided to make a wish together. They all said, “We wish for a wonderful adventure,” together.
Suddenly, a gentle breeze swirled around them, lifting the leaves into a spiral. A squirrel appeared, holding an acorn in its tiny paws, as if inviting them to follow. It led them to a hidden path covered in colorful leaves, where they discovered a tiny wooden door in the base of an ancient oak tree.
Emma knocked, and to their surprise, the door opened! Inside, they found a cozy room filled with glowing autumn lights and tiny woodland creatures preparing a feast.
The golden leaf had led them to the magical heart of autumn.
They spent the afternoon laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying the wonders of the season. As the sun set, the golden leaf vanished, but the memory of their magical adventure stayed with them forever.
